Model Reveals Her ‘Real’ Skin Without Photoshop in Bid to Normalise Imperfections

US model Kenz Lawren shared a clip on TikTok to reveal what her skin and hair looks like without editing in an empowering display of body positivity.

US model Kenz Lawren, who has posed for several major beauty brands, shared a clip on TikTok to reveal what her skin and hair looks like without editing in an empowering display of body positivity.

With the clip, Lawren proved her skin isn’t as perfect as it may seem, telling fellow young women: “This is your reality check”.

“The reality of it – my skin looks like this sometimes and in photos, it looks like this,” Lawren said in the clip, showing texture and redness on her face.

“Of course, everybody knows we use fancy and expensive equipment, we even have assistants hold a giant fan so we can get movement in our hair.”

The makeup model said a team of stylists and editors scour thousands of photos before they find the perfect shot, proving it isn’t just a matter of ‘looking good’ behind the camera.

She then took her fans on a tour of her facial imperfections, including pimples, scars and pigmentation.

“But even though everybody knows this, I think seeing it has a way bigger impact than just hearing about it because this is what my skin looks like,” Lawren continued

“Not even makeup can hide everything and it doesn’t last all day either.”
