Golden Globes 2020: Joaquin Phoenix Best Actor for “Joker”, “The Irishman” Incredibly Unprized

The Golden Globes are usually considered the apetizers before the Oscars, and 2020’s winners threw up a few surprises. It seems incredible, but Scorsese’s majestic “The Irishman” didn’t win anything, while Mendes’ “1917” conquered the title of best picture.

Quentin Tarantino picture Once Upon a Time in Hollywood picked up a couple of major awards, including Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor (Brad Pitt). Joaquin Phoenix won Best Actor for his role in Joker, which wasn’t unexpected.

Best Original Song: ‘(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again’ from Rocketman.

Best actress: Renée Zellweger in the role of Judy Garland.

“Chernobyl”, won the miniseries category, while family drama “Succession” picked up Best Actor for Brian Cox and Best Drama. Fleabag, meanwhile, dominated the major comedy categories.
